  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (for dredging)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

For the Honey Butter Garlic Sauce:

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (or rice vinegar)
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water (optional for thickening)

For Garnish:

  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Chicken Bites

  1. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels. Season evenly with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
  2. Lightly dredge each piece in flour, shaking off excess to create a light, crispy coating.

2. Sear the Chicken

  1. Heat olive oil and 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the chicken bites and sear for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F).
  3. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside on a paper towel to soak up these oil.

3. Make the Honey Butter Garlic Sauce

  1. In the same skillet, melt the remaining 4 tablespoons butter over medium-low heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds, stirring constantly.
  3. Stir in honey, soy sauce, vinegar, and red pepper flakes. Let it simmer for 1-2 minutes.
  4. (Optional) If a thicker sauce is desired, mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 2 tablespoons water and stir into the sauce. Simmer for another 1-2 minutes until thickened.

4. Combine & Serve

  1. Return the chicken bites to the skillet, tossing them in the sauce until fully coated. Let them cook for 2 more minutes to absorb the flavors.
  2. Garnish with chopped parsley and sesame seeds.
